Well my evening yesterday was ruined when I received a letter than one of my domain names owned infringed on a trademark. It’s an enforcement letter to hand over the domain
Yeah right. In the first place, it wasn’t my intention to violate any trademark and its a pretty generic domain name, well kinda … So what’s the next step if you do receive such letter?
Here’s what I did
- It’s not worth the time and effort to fight these “cease and decease” letter from lawyers. So I just deleted the site and put the domain name on temporary placement hold
- The domain is still registered under my name but I’m not using it for any purposes, so I reckon I’m not involved any illegal counts of activity under the trademark name
- If they really insist on wanting the domain, well they could have it
- In the future, I’ll do a research on domain names I’m buying so as to make sure there is no trademark violation. A good start is http://www.uspto.gov
Well any of you had such similar plight as me …

yes, not worth the time and effort to fight. i almost wanted to go to court due to a car accident, but the insurance guy advised me to let them settle outside court.
