With a steady income of $1K earning per month, I had to sit down, think and come up with a solution to get out of this sandbox of an income. Earning $1000 monthly steadily is encouraging enough but I was wondering why am I stagnant at this number for months. Have the money making online niche become saturated?

Well I finally got motivated and went back to my roots. Having an eye for detail, I started out as designer. My first online income came back in 1998 when a friend wanted a homepage for his company on his Pacific Internet account. It was a measly $20 but hey I was proud that I was able to earn money doing something I love, and on the Internet

And you know what, I finally did it. I broke the $2000 mark for last month!

Last month, the top earning is attributed to me selling my own customized designed WordPress themes. I sold it cheap, complete with plugins and script installation plus ensuring theme support. I did this as I wanted to build my portfolio and being cheap, some clients started to take you for granted and ask for the impossible. I try to be as obliging as possible, but a few I told them to shove their money up their asses. It’s not worth getting stressed up over a few bucks

So basically my advice to budding money making marketeers out there is, do something that you love. Something that you won’t lost interest in. Last month I’ve also started to get serious with affiliating and selling digital products online. My ClickBank, ShoppingAds and Amazon income jumped. Getting traffic is not instant as you know, and well the ground work was done the previous two months when I build several new blogs that will handle such selling of products online

Word of mouth I guess got around for my blogs, and the direct promotion of such blogs also paid dividend. From forum signatures, to writing articles and even using social bookmarking services, I tried it all. This is all done with no payment to submission sites or directories. The Internet is a wonderful realm when many things are still free.

Well for the below earning breakdown which has zero income, well I’ve decided not to implement it on my blogs. I’m just using their referral programs as the publisher program is in clash with my current program which is more profitable (Eg AdSense vs Bidvertiser). That means if it’s zero income, my referral signups have either not validate their registration, or have yet to earn any profit or just that I’ve not signed up referrals for last month

As for local advertising that I’m using on my blogs, which is Advertlets and Nuffnang, I’m truly worried by the downward spiral decreasing income. Although Advertlets is still earning me respectable income, my Nuffnang income has dipped terribly. This is due to their new Gliteratti program which favors bloggers who solely put their ads to get more advertisers. I mean that’s a terrible initiative. My blog will be overlooked just because I have other ads, even though my blogs has more uniques and substance. I just hope for Advertlets, it is just a case of their current batch of advertisers are paying less than previous ones

I’ve really learned a lot after I monetized my blogs. I started out earning $0 in December 2006 and one year on, it has reached an all time high, and I do hope it will be a better month next month. Do not be afraid to go out there and try new things. There’s only so much you can read and try to emulate such pro bloggers. Quit being a ‘clone’ and just throw caution to the wind. Learn from failures, know what works and what not. Tweak and optimize your ads and ROI

It’s still a learning process from me and I bet there’s plenty of other bloggers out there who earns plenty more than me. There will always be. Always be humble I’d say. This blog entry is not about blowing my own horns but it’s a online log that will motivate me to earn more. I’ve not forgotten my roots, so my target for this year is to hit $10,000 per month. And if I’m able to do that, I’ll donate $1,000 of that proceeds to a charitable organization.
