Oh for the clueless CTR is click-through rates, the percentage of total clicks over your total ad impressions on your blog
No I’m not disclosing any exact figures as part of AdSense TOS but I can say it’s pretty good
It’s above the normal average and on certain channels its as high as 15-20%
If you’re getting 2-4% CTR for your ads, that’s normal figures for many
Anything above the figures, I think that’s excellent, you should share your ’secrets’
The recent new changes in AdSense privacy policy stating your ads must look more like an ads and not part of the entry entity, well I would have thought that would cramped my blending style and reduced my CTR & profits, but I was surprised
My CTR grew steadily at a healthy rate each month, I’m impressed
Maybe the new policy weed out spammers and AdSense trolls in the program
I’m always looking for ways to improve my CTR, as I want to increase my profit margins
Well if you have any recommendations, just feel free to comment here
Here’s how I usually implement my ads
1. In between text content and “click to continue link”

2. The Pages where two ads at the top and bottom, while at the center, my content

3. At the end of every article entry

4. Links unit at top left and Google search box top right

5. Long rectangular ad unit under either mailing list or search box, left side

6. Big square ad unit smack top right

7. Link unit in-between “Previous” & “Next” Link

8. Ad square unit after article and before comments

Bro, I signed up for Adsense quite some time back but I still have no idea what are channels. It’ll take you to this page after setting up your ad, whereby you can create/delete channels. What are they anyway?
Hi bro
Channels are something you assigned to an ad you just created
So let’s say I name the channel “Anak Melayu 336×280 ad”. I named it so, as the ad will appear on my Anak Melayu blog displaying 336×280 ad square
So with that when I view my Adsense dashboard and if the channel “Anak Melayu 336×280 ad” appears, I can know its impression, clicks & CTR
From this info I can ascertain if this ad placement is working or need some changing in location, color, links, etc
Hope that helps
