Have you people noticed the change in fonts when Google AdSense ads is being served. Most of the time when the ad is loaded, its using the usual Arial font but at times you’ll get other fonts. I’ve attached a screenshot of it above. I’ve seen the changes on my 336×280 and 200×200 ads. How about you?

What is the reason behind such font change? Well there was no official statement from Inside AdSense, so the only reason I can think off is that like AdSense other recent ad implementation and policy, its a way for them to highlight to readers that what they’re seeing perhaps a 468×60 or 160×600 link area is an ad.

I think we publisher have become so good at going around the loopholes and blending the ads that it has come to a point that Google need to find ways to ‘cover their ass’ on the disclosure policy. So how does this affect us the publisher? Well so far the change has not affect my daily AdSense income, in fact thankfully it has grown

I won’t be surprised if rogue publisher tries to overcome this new ‘challenge’ by AdSense. A plugin that can changes the blog font similar to what Google ads are serving perhaps, so as to match Google Adsense Font Type and Size to Increase CTR? Well you never know :)

So I found the reason behind the change of font in my AdSense, some experimentation on selected publishers. Hearing that only limited publisher have such font ads changes, I don’t know to be honored or scared. To know that Big G noticed my blogs is hmmmm *ponders*

I guess I won’t be seeing the new fonts anymore, since it has been discontinued. Back to the old boring Arial fonts
