I quit the PayPerPost network last year, so I don’t have an account there anymore, but it seems they’re still sending me their newsletter. I wonder why am I still in their mailing database. Well anyway I’m not upset about it, the emails does keep me inform of the latest from IZEA

Now let’s see eh

  1. IzeaFest

Well for starters there’s IzeaFest coming this September. Formerly known as PostieCon, its a place where bloggers and advertisers network. ShoeMoney will be there! Sounds like one big party fest

  2. Social Spark launched

As for Social Spark their ads are becoming more and more bold I might add. Once I observed a huge bar at the bottom of the browser. The bloggers who has that, well it shouts “Demote my PageRank” despite the “no-follow” as being optional in the review criteria. To my horror, when I click the bar, there’s an even bigger ad appearing. Now that’s fugly and obtrusive to unsuspecting readers

No I’m not condemning IZEA, its a viable source of online income if you’re involved in paid reviews and other CPC/CPM offerings by Socialspark. It’s just that its still a grey area on the passing PageRank issue. What’s seem compliant for the advertisers or blogger, it will vary in the eye of Google

Due to that I’ve stayed away so far and I advise you should too. Well of course, I don’t know about you but I’ve my alternatives by staying afloat doing freelance work and sourcing for direct advertising. Maybe you can do that too

Well lastly, Happy Labor Day to those in Singapore and countries who celebrate it on May 1st
