When I started out this blog, I settled on the default WordPress permalink options and only after I’ve learned about Search Engine Optimization and wanting a more ‘readable’ and user friendly pages, it’s too late to change my pages permalink structure
Example:
http://domain.com/?p=169 (Old)
http://domain.com/category/article-title (New)
Fearing I’ll lose the search engine traffic looking for my pages, I let the permalink structure as it is. But after I got to know of WordPress plugins that can aid in my permalink changes, well I was delighted
Of course, the new version of WordPress has the ability to redirect old permalink, but my blog has gone through several permalink changes and I want to capture all URL that has been changed to consistently redirected to the right pages without losing any traffic and penalties by search engines for duplicate content
Well here below are a few plugins that I recommend
- Permalink Redirect WordPress Plugin by Scott Yang (Recommended)
- Permalinks Migration Plugin by Dean Lee
- Permalink Redirect WordPress by Joost de Valk
- Advanced Permalinks by Urban Giraffe
- Permalinks Moved Permanently by Microkid

This is very interesting and helpful for me article. Thanks for writing Sha!
